Caitlin Moe Singer/Songwrtier Violinist
I got my Moe, from mediaHo!
Living as a part-time gypsy, 22-year-old Caitlin Moe has been changing the string scene with two violins tied to her back. Moe began playing violin at the age of 4, but was later criticized for being too animated and too interpretive with her classical selections, which soon led her to discover songwriting and the infusion of strings with other genres. .. Fresh off the 2009-2010 west coast tour with multi- plantinum selling arena rock band Trans- Siberian Orchestra as their featured electric violinist, Moe has currently been touring with DJ Mia Moretti, exploding out of the ordinary classical violin and electrifying audiences in hotspots across the country, including New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas and the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. Moe & Moretti have become a fixture at events such as the Lollapalooza “Rock the Vote” official after-party, Perez Hilton showcase at SXSW, Sundance & Gen Art film festivals, Deepak Chopra center in San Diego, and fashion events for Alice + Olivia, Richie Rich, DKNY, and Diesel. .. "Someone to la-la- love" (one of the songs on Moe's EP, currently available on iTunes) was featured as the theme song for the Gen Art 2010 Film Festival. Moe was also recently selected as one of "Blue" microphone's featured artists; and has been working closely with Talenthouse on one of her upcoming projects. .. When she's not on the road, Moe is writing & recording for her solo album, set for release in 2010, which has been described as "moody pop-synth with lots of crazy strings." You will be instantly hooked by Moe's exhilarating and unique presence, be it through a recording or live performance. "The 21-year-old beauty grips the neck of her electric violin and plays over the pounding bass with enough raw female fury to hypnotize a club full of even the most jaded ravers...When Moe really gets into it, she seems to channel Jim Morrison, dropping back on her knees until her head touches the stage, violin wailing the entire time." - Justin Silverman, NY post .. "For me, it's not about the most technically perfect performance or the most intricate song... it's about the most beautifully damaged feeling. I want my music to rip you open and leave you exposed...or at least give you a few scars to go back to." - caitlin moe .. .. .. listen loud & love hard, .. moe
