The highly acclaimed band,
Clare, who recently recieved
two LA Music Awards for "Artist
Of The Year" for their songs,
"Girl" and "Best Dresser" just
released their new CD-
"Listen" which contains both
songs.
The band joined forces 3 years
ago and mainly consist of Clare
Maio, singer, songwriter, and
Ralph Meier, bass player,
songwriter.
Clare, born in Southern
California, started playing
piano at age 12 and has
performed at churches and
local events. In 2005 she
released her first LP "Heavens
Doors" that includes "The Song
Love Brings" which was
featured in the award winning
Indie film- "Harringtons Notes".
Ralph Meier, born and raised in
Milwaukee Wisconsin, has
been playing bass and writing
music since the age of 10 and
has played with several
successful bands in the LA
area. They were recently
signed with Renaissance
Records and are distributed
through Koch.
Together they have spun a
variety of songs of storytelling
that are alluring and
mesmerizing, renduring an
exceptional perception of
spiritual sophistication and
remarkable originality

Doc's Personal Commentary
This band was a submission by
Renaissance Records, a
welcome one indeed. Clare's
vocals have the intensity to
crossover to any of a number
of genre's is she wished to do
so. Rock, Americans, Folk,
Progressive Country, Blues,
Jazz, just about any of them
would not be a problem. The
new Album "Listen" is
definitely worth the effort in
obtaining for ones personal
collection. I do believe there
are at least two previous works
out there as well, "time holds"
& "Heavens Door"! I don't have
them yet, but will be hitting the
folks up from Renaissance very
soon!
