ESTRUM: BASS
Jhon Bellizia

Playing music for 20 years, playing bass for 4 years.
I am a self-taught punk, who wised up and took
some music theory and performance at the
University of Pittsburgh.

Current Equipment:
Ampeg SVT 4 PRO amplifier
Ampeg SVT 410HLF classic cabinet
Fender Jazz Bass
Electro Harmonix bass micro synthesizer, Line 6
modulation modeler, ZVex wooly mammoth, and a
volume pedal,
enclosed in a PortaPedal effects case.

Influences:
I listen to all kinds of music, but the musicians that
have really influenced me are: Les Claypool, Frank
Zappa, John McLaughlin, the Butthole Surfers,
Marc Ribot, and more recently Mars Volta

Musical Aspirations:
I come from a non-musical family. My infatuation
with music began when a friend brought me to his
house, and his entire family was sitting around
playing bluegrass and old country songs. The effect
on me was powerful and immediate, I wanted to
play too. Most of my playing has been with
Cattywampus, an avant/jazz rock band, but I have
also played reggae/rock and punk/americana

I feel extremely fortunate to be playing with Estrum,
this band embodies several concepts and
principals I had been yearning to express. "Music is
mechanical as a clock, yet free as a dream."
-Aldous Huxley.
