| Otep Shamaya, front lady of the band whom carries her name. This is one very outstanding addition to the Metal madness of our era. Another unique vocalist whose transitional ranges and abilities to move with ease from soft to bone grinding metal madness in a flip switch nanno second. If you want a taste just drop by her Myspace sight and watch Ghost Flowers. Driven internally on a nuclear generator, she has enough energy to power a large city. Stage performances and video;s reflect an almost endless supply of focused anger and dark desire to intimidate, yet tantalize the audio senses of anyone within ear shot. Always in a constant state of motion and emotion, she will lift you up and then crush you under a ton of bone jarring lyrics and vocal barrages. Otep is backed up by a trio of the most evil looking and instrumentally prolific band of demonic musicians. She has given rise to an ever growing fan base and has the new Ascension album out on the market. A must have cd for the private stash of any Metal Maniac's collection. |
| Doc's Personal Commentary This lady is an absolute live wire. A pleasure to listen to and equally as much watching her conquer the stage like a battlefield. Unique vocals spew from her mouth like fire from a dragons lungs. Where all this pent up energy and rage comes from, is at best a secret in which only she is the keeper. Watching Ghost Flower is a pulse pounding, blood pressure raising feast for the eyes and ears. From a 16th century dress to a demented alter ego in a split second and never a dropped note. I can only think of one quote which aptly fits this woman. From Locutos of the Borg Assimilation, is inevitable! Resistance, is futile! |
